17 year old admits attempted murder
A teenage boy has admitted attempted murder after carrying out a vicious knife attack that left a man in his 60s fighting for his life. The 17-year-old cannot be named for legal reasons and pleaded guilty to attempted murder, possession of a knife in a public place, and shop theft at Stafford Crown Court.
The attack happened in May when the victim was found with multiple stab wounds on a public footpath through Stafford Castle Golf Course. The offender fled the scene before emergency services arrived.
Police provided life-saving first aid at the scene before paramedics took him to hospital where he had a series of emergency operations. He has since been discharged from hospital.
