Affordable homes plans refused
Plans for 80 affordable homes on the edge of a town have been refused by councillors who said the site next to Olive Park on Stafford Road was outside the settlement boundary and in an unsustainable location.
The outline application by Vestry Homes for 80 affordable homes looked to secure the principle of development, and planned for access to the site from the B5013. Half of the proposed properties would be available for social rent with the rest being split between shared ownership and affordable rent.
Councillors made their ruling amid concerns raised by residents of the area.
The site is next to Olive Park, a development on Stafford Road approved in 2019 and nearing completion.
