Apprenticeships launched in ceramics industry
Ceramics manufacturers could receive a £2,000 government incentive for recruiting eligible apprentices as part of a new training scheme designed to protect specialist skills.
The financial support is available to eligible SMEs recruiting apprentices from this month, and has been highlighted by trade body Ceramics UK as employers consider taking on a second cohort of Craft Technician apprentices in April 2027.
The new scheme – delivered by Creative Alliance – was launched earlier this year by the team at Emma Bridgewater in conjunction with other Stoke-on-Trent manufacturers, Ceramics UK and Skills England.
