Armed police called to City Centre

Staffordshire Police have arrested four men and a woman over violence in Town Road in Hanley. They were sent to the city centre after a 'large group' began fighting in the street. The afternoon Hanley brawl also saw an axe and piece of wood brandished.

Police say three men aged 41, 36, and 33, all from Stoke-on-Trent, were arrested on suspicion of affray. A 50-year-old man, of no fixed address, was arrested on suspicion of affray and assault by beating. A 33-year-old Stoke-on-Trent woman was arrested on suspicion of affray.
