Arrests made after truck stopped in Staffordshire

Police have made three arrests after officers found eight people in the back of a truck travelling on the Staffordshire A50. Cops had become alerted to the lorry as it passed through Uttoxeter due to 'suspicious activity' in the trailer. Staffordshire Police say three men aged 19, 30, and 49, all of no fixed address, have been arrested on suspicion of knowingly entering the UK without leave. Two adults and three children have since been taken to an immigration centre. Meanwhile no action has been taken against the driver as police are satisfied the trucker was unaware.
