Clinical trial for migraine sufferers
Patients living with chronic migraine are being offered access to a pioneering new clinical trial at the Royal Stoke. University Hospitals of North Midlands NHS Trust (UHNM) has become the first NHS Trust in the UK to recruit a patient onto the MINT-C trial, with the Royal Stoke currently the only UK centre taking part in the international study.
The trial is evaluating a new type of botulinum toxin treatment which researchers hope could help reduce the frequency of migraine attacks while requiring fewer injections than existing therapies.
