Devolution boundary could be announced in next fortnight
All 10 councils in Stoke on Trent and Staffordshire are set to be abolished and replaced with new unitary authorities as part of a shift away from two-tier local government. Stoke on Trent City Council leader, Jane Ashworth, has said at a cabinet meeting that she expects the government to make their decisions on the future ahead of the governments recess on the 16th July thinking that the governments options is likely to be a unitary authority covering the north Staffordshire area.
