Family horrified over attack on grandad

The family of an 87 year old Stoke on Trent man who was attacked in his own home say they have been sickened and horrified by his ordeal. John Tester was left for dead in what Staffordshire Police believe was a burglary gone wrong. He was slashed with a knife. 

A stranger called at his house in Abbey Hulton to sell garden tools. On the second visit John was beaten up while jewellery and his mobility car were stolen. The car was later found burned out in Tunstall high Street. 

Staffordshire Police have arrested a 40 year old man with aggravated burglary and are appealing for any information or door-cam footage in the area.
