Firefighters continue to battle with blazes across the City

Firefighters battled a massive fire in the city last night which spread from a park at Sandyford to local houses from which residents were evacuated. A huge plume of black smoke was visible for miles around.

David Williams, MP for Stoke-on-Trent North and Kidsgrove, said his thoughts were with those affected and thanked Goldenhill Working Mens Club for offering a safe haven for affected residents. 

The previous evening firefighters battled two blazes by the A50 which saw the road closed and scores of homes were evacuated.
