Great train safari to raise money for heritage centre
A 10-year-old train enthusiast is taking on a huge challenge to raise money for the place he has loved since he was five.
Joshua, from Sandbach, will visit more than 50 railway stations across Cheshire in just one day today, starting from Crewe and going on to the likes of Nantwich, Chester, Stockport and Macclesfield, raising money for Crewe Heritage Centre.
The youngster has been visiting the heritage centre since he was around five and his family say it has become his favourite place.
His love of the railway also has a personal connection, with Joshua's great-grandad having worked on the railway.
Now Joshua wants to give something back to the centre and honour his great-grandad's memory by completing his 'Great Train Safari’.
