Halifax to close local branch

Newcastle-under-Lyme bank is set to close for good, as customers are turning to online services and phone banking. 

Halifax has announced that its Newcastle-under-Lyme branch, on Ironmarket, will close in October.

It comes as Lloyds Banking Group has announced a number of closures across Britain. 

The bank explained that customers that have accounts with Lloyds, Halifax or Bank of Scotland, can do their banking at any of their branches.
