Man awaiting trial for rape charges

A man is awaiting trial after pleading not guilty to raping and sexually assaulting a woman in Middlewich. Amaechi Obikobe appeared at a plea and trial preparation hearing this week at Chester Crown Court.

The 46-year-old was accused of rape and sexual assault Obikobe, of Harry Rowley Close, Manchester, is on bail with conditions not to contact the complainant, directly or indirectly, by any means whatsoever.

There will be a pre-trial review in early November next year and a three-day trial in mid-November next year
