Moorlands council recognised for armed forces support

Staffordshire Moorlands District Council has been recognised for its sustained commitment to supporting the armed forces community with the award of the Defence Employer Recognition Scheme (ERS) Silver Award.

The ERS Silver Award celebrates employers who are actively creating supportive environments for reservists, veterans, the cadet movement and military families.

The Council was the only local authority in the West Midlands to receive a silver in this year's awards.

Councillor Bill Cawley, Cabinet Member for Communities and Armed Forces Champion, received the award last week at a ceremony held at the National Memorial Arboretum in Alrewas, Staffordshire.
