Nathan Heaney vows to continue his support of the City he loves

Boxing hero Nathan Heaney has issued a heartfelt 'thank you' to his army of fans as he brought his career in the ring to a close. But the Hitman has revealed how he has plans to 'put something back' in the Potteries.

The 37-year-old was defeated in a rematch, on points, against Welsh fighter Gerome Warburton. As he stood in the ring for one final time the Meir warrior laid down his red and white gloves and belted out a rendition of Delilah with his army of loyal fans.

However the Stoke City fan has told fans it won't be the last they hear of him in his beloved Potteries as he's planning to 'put something back directly in the heart of our city'. In a heartfelt message on his Facebook page he told supporters he is 'forever indebted' to those who have roared him on.
