New mobile household waste centres in Cheshire East

A mobile household waste recycling centre service is set to expand to three more towns.

From today Cheshire East Council residents will be able to access the facility in Congleton, Macclesfield and Wilmslow. 

The authority brought in mobile HWRCs after three permanent tips closed in 2024. Two of those affected, Middlewich and Poynton, have since regained a mobile service.

The council said the changes to the mobile services followed a review of recycling facilities in the borough. There are further plans to expand to Audlem.
