Police officers across the country remember their fallen colleagues for local charity COPS

Two members of Staffordshire Police have started a cycling challenge to raise money for colleagues who have lost their lives while on duty.

DC Matt Jones and news and public affairs officer, Rach Harrison, joined hundreds of officers and staff from across the UK for the annual Police Unity Tour.

They are riding as part of the West Midlands chapter, taking on a gruelling 200 mile route over the course of two days, completing the challenge at the National Memorial Arboretum (NMA) in Staffordshire on Sunday.

Motorcyclists from Staffordshire Police will accompany them for part of the journey and final section of the route to NMA where a remembrance service will be held.

The Police Unity Tour raises money for Care of Police Survivors (COPS), a Staffordshire-based charity which supports the families of police officers and staff who have lost their lives on duty.
