Police renew appeal over stabbing in Stafford

Police have renewed an appeal for information after a man was stabbed while walking on a footpath at a golf course.

Officers were called to the scene on Newport Road in Stafford, round 7 on Thursday evening.

The victim, in his 60s, remains in a critical condition in hospital with specialist officers continuing to support him and his family.

The force confirmed that he had been walking along a public footpath through the golf course in the Castlefields area of the town when he was approached from behind.

Anyone in the area or those with CCTV or dashcam footage have been asked to get in contact.
