Prominent leaders receive University recognition
Five prominent figures from business, education, emergency services, the voluntary sector and international human rights are to receive honorary doctorates from University of Staffordshire at its summer graduation ceremonies which begin next week.
Among those being recognised are entrepreneur Andrew Pear DL, founder of Stoke-on-Trent-based Reliance Medical.
Former Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service chief fire officer Rob Barber, Heather McLachlan, chief executive officer of the Potteries Educational Trust, for her contribution to education and her commitment to improving opportunities for young people across Stoke-on-Trent and the wider Midlands. Saltbox charity chief executive Lloyd Cooke, who has spent almost 38 years in the role supporting vulnerable communities and fostering collaboration across the public, voluntary and faith sectors and Internationally respected human rights lawyer and advocate Dr Muluka-Anne Miti.
