School closed with immediate effect despite u-turn to stay open

Parents of pupils at an independent school in Staffordshire have received notification of the schools closure, despite a u-turn suggesting it would stay open.

Abbotsholme co-educational independent day and boarding school closed with immediate effect yesterday, although students sitting exams are asked to attend.

Boarding pupils were being looked after until their collection.

The future of the establishment near Rocester remains uncertain.
