Teenager to swim channel for MENCAP
A schoolboy with severe dyslexia is to swim the English Channel to raise funds for charity. 13 year old Will Robinson, from Cheddleton will swim from Dover to France to try and raise £2,000 for Mencap, which supports people with a learning disability, their families and carers. The teenager, who attends Beech Hall School in Macclesfield, will complete the gruelling 21-mile swim as part of a relay with five other pupils. They will battle cold water, strong currents, and jellyfish as they navigate their way across one of the busiest shipping lanes in the world. Will has trained tirelessly for 12 months with his regime including intensive pool sessions at school and MyActive Cheadle Leisure Centre; open water training and ice baths to help him cope with the cold waters of the open sea.
