Third man arrested in stabbing incident

A third man has been arrested in connection with two stabbings in Stoke-on-Trent.

Officers were called to The Strand in the Longton area of the city just before midday on Saturday, after reports of fighting in the street.

Two people were taken to hospital with stab wounds. They both remain in a stable condition.

They have now arrested a 26-year-old man from Stoke-on-Trent, who is being held in custody on suspicion of attempted murder and violent disorder.

The force added that shortly after the incident was reported, officers pursued and stopped a car and then detained two of the four occupants.
