Tip evacuated due to suspicious packet

Cheshire police have confirmed they had to close off Crewe’s tip in Pyms Lane at the weekend due to what was believed to be a suspicious packet. 

Officers closed off the Crewe tip to the general public while investigating the package, with everyone evacuated from the area by site staff. 

The item turned out to be lithium battery packs, with no danger to the public.
