Two sentenced following assault in Newcastle
A 34-year-old man and a 19-year-old woman have been sentenced after assaulting a member of the public and two police officers in Newcastle-under-Lyme.
Eamonn O'Rourke, 34, and Karly Parfitt, 19, both from Kidsgrove, each admitted three counts of assault occasioning actual bodily harm at a court hearing in June.
O'Rourke also admitted possession of a controlled drug of class A (cocaine) and possession of a controlled drug of class B (cannabis).
At Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court on Monday 7 Septembe), O'Rourke was sentenced to two-years-and-three months in jail.
Parfitt was given a one-year-and-one month prison sentence, suspended for two years.
