Whitchurch stars awarded scholarship

Two rising stars in the rural sector have been awarded the 2026 John Platt Travel Scholarship.

The scholarship is run by Reaseheath College and University Centre in partnership with the Cheshire Agricultural Society Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CASCIO).

Claudia Pearson, from Malpas, and Bethan Murphy, from Tilston, have received the award in recognition of their contributions to agriculture and their plans to explore international models for farm resilience.

It supports professionals aged 18 to 35 by funding overseas research that can benefit Cheshire’s agricultural sector.
