About this episode

Get ready for the most colourful run of the year – Dougie Mac’s Colour Dash is back; and this time the charity is bringing it to an exciting new venue!

The hugely popular family-friendly event is to be held at Northwood Stadium on Saturday, May 30 giving participants the chance to raise vital funds for their local hospice whilst having tonnes of fun.

From start to finish, supporters will be covered from head to toe in vibrant hues as they jog, walk, dance or skip their way through the 400m course.

Deborah Vickers, Head of Business and Events Fundraising, said: “Following two amazing events we are very excited to bring our Colour Dash event back for a third year and this time at an exciting new venue! It’s the perfect event for the whole family with people of all ages welcome to join in with the fun, laughter and colour!

“We are inviting the local community to sign up and take part in this year’s event and make it bigger and better than ever before. Registration costs just £8 for under 16s and £10 for adults and the money raised through registration fees and fundraising will enable us to be there for local adults, young adults and children when they need us.”

Additionally, there will also be music, food and drinks, stalls, games and inflatable fun to keep participants entertained.

To register for Dougie Mac’s Colour Dash visit www.dougiemac.org.uk/colour-dash where there is more information about the event.

At Dougie Mac we are committed to ensuring that the Colour Dash is welcoming and inclusive for all participants, spectators and volunteers. This means:

·        Dougie Mac staff and volunteers will be stationed throughout the venue to assist where needed

·        A large projector screen will provide live speech-to-text support for announcements

·        First Aid teams will be positioned at key points on the route and within the event hub

·        A quiet space will be available for individuals who benefit from a low stimulus environment

·        Two run times are available – the first is a quieter, sensory considered run with no music.

We encourage anyone with specific accessibility needs to contact us in advance so we can provide the best possible support. Contact: nikki-leannejohnson@dmhospice.org.uk. Phone: 01782 344359.
