The new local radio station for Staffordshire and Cheshire launches on Monday 29th May at 12noon with a special broadcast to mark the occasion.

Blue Sky Radio will feature presenters including; Dave Johnson, Kevin Fernihough, Jason Hardy, Lee Finan, Colin Cook, Ray King, Verity Hilton, Justine Cope and Ian Maddock as it launches, and will play a wide range of hit music from the 1960’s until today.

The station is being launched as many other radio stations lose their own localness and become based for most of the day outside of our area. Blue Sky is broadcasting on a number of new DAB+ transmitter sites in Staffordshire and Cheshire, with the specific sites for Stoke-on-Trent and Newcastle-under-Lyme due to be switched on very soon. In the meantime the station is widley available across Cheshire from a transmitter in Crewe and also covering parts of Staffordshire from a site in Biddulph.

You can also ask your Alexa smart speaker to “enable the blue sky radio skill” and then after just say “play blue sky radio”.

Other methods of listening to the station are coming soon, including apps for android and iphones.
